Plans for Additional Fire Stations

Although the new fire station is named #4, there are actually only 2 fire stations operating in Keller.  When #4 goes on line we will have 3 operating stations.

We have more than 900 new homes on the drawing board in North Keller that will need fire protection.  We can’t wait like past councils did for Station #4.  We must be able to provide service when it is needed.  Failure to provide it will merely cause fire protection in other parts of the ctiy to be spread too thin to serve either new homes ore existing or new homes adequately.  Planning is important, but actually doing is equally important.

Bond Proposals to the Voters in November 2008 and 2009

We need to determine what is reasonable and doable.  You should decide what you are willing to support for major expenditures that affect your tax dollars.

Parks and Recreation:  The Parks and Recreation Board believe we need more land and more amenities.  They are suggesting $70+ million for build out. As much as $4-$10 million may be needed in the next few years.

Drainage:  We want to minimize the impact of a significant flooding in the future.  We are working on final figures, but adequate measures to abate flooding may require $3-$6 million.

Streets: We’ve made great progress but there’s more to do.  The ¼ cent sales tax addition is a great start but we’ll need more money to take care of bigger projects like Rufe Snow and Tarrant Parkway expansions.  We could be looking at $30+ million over the next 5-10 years.

Sanitary Sewer:  Some areas of North Keller need these services.  The cost may be known in a few months.

I have been humbled and honored to represent you the past two years, and with your continued support, I will continue to represent your needs as they are expressed to me.  I would greatly appreciate your vote.  Together we can continue to make a difference in our city.
